Kathleen Makolinski, DVM, DABVP
(Shelter Medicine Practice)
Dr. Kathleen Makolinski is a veterinarian and social entrepreneur who has dedicated 25 years to providing medical care to underserved animals in Western New York. Better Together Pet Resource Center is the 3rd successful not-for-profit organization that she co-founded. She is passionate about keeping pets with the people who love them, data-driven decision making, and building teams that are warriors for kindness.

Deanna Meyers
Deanna has served as an employee and volunteer for numerous animal shelters, rescue organizations, and veterinary hospitals over the last 15 years. She has experience in animal welfare, fundraising, event planning, logistics, volunteer training, and community outreach programs. She is passionate about helping underserved animal owners provide the best possible care for their companion animals. Not only does her boundless compassion for animals show in her work, but also in her home life, as she has rescued and provided care for many animals including chickens, peacocks, dogs, and cats who live on her family farm.

Jill Powell
Jill Powell has held key roles in administration, development, and communications for not-for-profit organizations in the arts, social services, and higher education. She is currently a member of the finance and management team at Buffalo State College, with responsibilities in records management, trademark licensing, and website content development. She previously worked in Institutional Advancement supporting the efforts of the college foundation and its board of directors. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Buffalo State College.
